Save Power -Black Balloon Campaign
The NSW Government has launched a campaign to help educate NSW homes, businesses and communities on how to reduce carbon emissions.
Black Balloon Campaign to Save Power in NSW.
The NSW Government has launched a campaign to help you reduce carbon emissions in your home, business and community.
The initiative which was launched by the Premier Nathan Rees with Deputy Premier Carmel Tebbutt, is based on educating NSW people on how large their carbon emissions are by counting emissions in terms of Black Balloons.
The Balloons which represent 50 grams of carbon pollution, will aim to make people think about how they can help the environment while taking steps to save money and make NSW the leading Green State.
The Black Balloon Campaign is a part of the wider NSW Government's Energy Efficiency Strategy which aims to:
- reduce greenhouse gas emissions from energy consumption in NSW,
- reduce the impact of rising energy prices on businesses and the community by lowering energy consumption,
- delay the need to construct additional energy generation and distribution infrastructure in NSW, achieving a cost-saving for the state economy.
So get behind the Campaign and start thinking about how we can make our homes, businesses and communities more environmentally friendly. Together, we can all make a difference and help reduce the human impact on climate change.
