Member of the Legislative Council
NSW Treasurer and Special Minister of State
Eric Roozendaal is the NSW Treasurer, responsible for the State’s $47.6 billion budget.
As a father of three, Eric understands the stresses that hardworking families are under – he knows NSW needs strong economic management.
Eric will be working closely with the Premier and all his Cabinet colleagues to get the state back on track and is committed to ensuring the money is there to keep the police on the beat, the teachers in our classrooms and the nurses in our hospitals.
Prior to his appointment as Treasurer on September 8, 2008, Eric was the NSW Minister for Roads since February 2006 and was appointed NSW Minister for Commerce in April 2007. He has also served as the NSW Minister for Ports and Waterways and as the Assistant Transport Minister with responsibility for buses, taxis and ferries.
During his term as Roads Minister, Eric introduced the $46.5 million school zone program to roll out new flashing lights technology and spearheaded Australia’s toughest young driver licensing reforms designed to give L and P plate drivers the best and safest start possible to their driving careers.
