Minister for Ageing, Minister for Disablility Services, Minister for Volunteering and Minister for Youth

After Peter graduated as a social worker from the University of Sydney, he worked in a number of agencies including the Departments of Health and Community Services. He served on Campbelltown City Council, including a term as Mayor; and for five years as Chair of the Macarthur Health Services Board. Peter is now the Minister for Regulatory Reform and Minister for Mineral Resources.

Peter was elected as Member for Camden in 1988; and subsequently entered the NSW Legislative Council in 1996. He served as Government Whip, and was elected as President in 2007.

Peter was appointed as Minister for Small Business, Minister for Volunteering, Minister for Youth, Minister Assisting the Premier on Veteran's Affairs in December 2009. In May 2010 Peter was appointed as Minister for Ageing and Minister for Disability Services in addition to the portfolios of Volunteering and Youth.

Peter is married, with one son.
