Andrew was a local paediatrician before being elected to parliament in March 2007. He has worked with children since 1981.
He and his wife Jenny, who is also a paediatrician, trained at the Children’s Hospital, Camperdown. Andrew also trained in England. Andrew and Jenny have lived and worked in South West Sydney since 1990. They have two sons. Andrew believes in social justice and the rights of our children.
He believes that every child deserves to have time with their family and a future in which they are able to realise their true potential. Since being elected to the NSW parliament Andrew has been working with the local schools, police, railway staff, hospitals and community groups to speak up for the electorate of Macquarie Fields.
Andrew looks forward to applying his many years of medical experience as the Shadow Minister for Health and Medical Research in John Robertson's team.
He still works one day per week pro bono, both as a doctor and teaching medical students as a University Associate Professor. His hobbies are riding his bicycle and watching “The Simpsons” with his family.
